Central Diagnosis and Research Laboratories passed successfully without inspection – Cyprus Newspaper
Central Diagnosis and Research Laboratories (MTAL) under the Directorate of Veterinary Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources passed the proficiency inspection.
According to the information provided by the Ministry, MTAL Turkish Accreditation Authority (TURKAK) on May 13 and 14 for the adequacy of the experimental and calibration laboratories for the general conditions (TS EN ISO/IEC 17025) within the framework of the standard.
It was stated that the scope of the Animal Health Laboratory and the National Food Reference Laboratory was expanded and 14 more experimental methods were included in the scope of accreditation in 74 activity/experiment/analysis.
MTAL’s “Farm to Sofra to Sofra” contributed to the protection of both animal health and public health in the food safety chain, and MTAL is the only laboratory of the state with ISO 17025 certificate in the said area.
It is stated that the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources attaches importance to strengthening the laboratory infrastructure, increasing the quality of veterinary services and maintaining public health.
It was stated that MTAL started to include experimental methods in 2019 and successfully renewed its accreditation in 2022 and validated until 2027.
