Cello Festival guests from four continents of the world

Eight years ago, the chords of the first festival, which sounded and fascinated by the variety of shows, are again inviting you to immerse yourself in different forms of art this year.
Sandra Straukaitė and Agnija Sheiko, a well -known creator in the world of dance and theater, will unite in the industrial space, where music, fashion and movement will connect in the performance of Klaipeda Energija. « It will be like a visual transformation of music and this classical musical instrument can be seen, felt and touched, » said A. Every morning, young cellists from all over Lithuania will be distributed around the various spaces of the city – cafes, markets, kindergartens, grandparents’ home – and for free to perform listeners.
« It is not only music, but also a gesture that brings the music closer to a person, bringing it back to everyday life. It is also a beautiful tradition of this festival that sounds from the very first festival in 2017, » said M. Bačkus.
Every night, Klaipeda will turn into a concert scene – world -class cellists will play in chamber performances and shocking concerts. Among them are musicians who will appear in Lithuania for the first time and probably the only time. Festival programs include classics, contemporary compositions and experimental music.
“In the evenings, the festival will end every day at Hofas Night Club – in the yard, where friends meet and the cello will change her amplitude again – it will move from the academic stage to the club environment, along with electronics, improvisation and jazz. The contest scene – future stars
An integral part of the Klaipėda cello festival is the international Klaipeda cello competition of David Gering, which brings together young talents from four continents. This year, 61 competitor from 28 countries will participate. We will receive talent from the most exotic countries: Colombia, Taiwan, Canada, Japan and South Korea. Competition performances will be held at Klaipėda Stasys Šimkus Conservatoire and LMTA Klaipėda Faculty.
