Cello Festival guests from four continents of the world

“Within six days, the city will hear and see 53 events – from light morning concerts to world -class shows in the most unexpected places in the city, such as Klaipeda energy turbine turbine hall or nightclub Hofas. Undoubtedly, it is most intriguing that this year the cello expands its boundaries and becomes part of movement, image and fashion, ”said Mindaugas Bačkus, artistic director of the Klaipėda Concert Hall Chamber Orchestra.

Cello music will enter into other forms of art

Eight years ago, the chords of the first festival, which sounded and fascinated by the variety of shows, are again inviting you to immerse yourself in different forms of art this year.

Sandra Straukaitė and Agnija Sheiko, a well -known creator in the world of dance and theater, will unite in the industrial space, where music, fashion and movement will connect in the performance of Klaipeda Energija. « It will be like a visual transformation of music and this classical musical instrument can be seen, felt and touched, » said A. Sheik, a performance director and choreographer.

The wellness cycle « Chellattes » will reveal another unexpected instrumental transformation at the festival – anyone who wants to feel and understand how the sound affects the body. « The morning exercise for cellists is open to everyone who wants to, and on Saturday they will turn into a lively synthesis of your Bach music and yoga. You want to try Chellattes – come to the Culture Factory, » artistic director M. Bačkus intrigued.

Fans of engaging exhibitions should not miss the Digital Cello, which will be open at the Klaipėda Cultural Communication Center. Spanish artist David Fernandez created an interactive installation that combines 3D graphics and artificial intelligence. « The cello, computer -based images and three -dimensional computer graphics will take you to the impressive world of visual fantasy and music. Fragments of this exhibition that spread on social networks have already gained stunning popularity. www.celloideda.com– said Tadas Grabys.

City pulse – the rhythm of music

Every morning, young cellists from all over Lithuania will be distributed around the various spaces of the city – cafes, markets, kindergartens, grandparents’ home – and for free to perform listeners.

« It is not only music, but also a gesture that brings the music closer to a person, bringing it back to everyday life. It is also a beautiful tradition of this festival that sounds from the very first festival in 2017, » said M. Bačkus.

Every night, Klaipeda will turn into a concert scene – world -class cellists will play in chamber performances and shocking concerts. Among them are musicians who will appear in Lithuania for the first time and probably the only time. Festival programs include classics, contemporary compositions and experimental music.

“In the evenings, the festival will end every day at Hofas Night Club – in the yard, where friends meet and the cello will change her amplitude again – it will move from the academic stage to the club environment, along with electronics, improvisation and jazz. This is not only a bold artistic solution, but also a reminder that classics are alive and relevant to today’s person, ”said Bačkus.

The Joint Orchestra of » Traveling Celloles « will also appear in the evening, consisting of one hundred best Lithuanian music and art schools specially The anthem created for the festival, ”said M. Bačkus.

Sounding Klaipeda – not just the port city

The festival will combine forms of art, break the boundaries of genres and invite not only to listen, but also wonder what this instrument can. « This week will be a challenge for everyone, organizers to control the logistics of four hundred participants, to participate in all programs for guests, because they should never miss what they can never see again, » said Tadas Grabys, the head of Klaipeda Concert Hall.
