Celebrates the Lux ensemble – Blikk

The home pop-rock history has never been a weekend when it comes to light music fans, when two « Matuzalem » bands are on stage: on Saturday in Budapest, the Lux band will be remembered in Debrecen on Sunday. The capital and rural bands are connected by a common thread: both played in both the legendary guitarist, who died at the age of 73 after a long illness last year, was one of the founders of Lux.

Miklós Felkai and Sándor Tikász

« We can’t wait for this extraordinary time travel, and we can’t believe that we have been entertaining the Debrecen for so long for 55 years, » said Sándor Tikász, guitarist, another founder of Lux. – We were a band in Debrecen, we are and stay. We had to do it here to make our music into all parts of the country. Over the decades, we have been called in many places in the country.

In Lux Debrecen’s musical life at the time, it appeared as a new color spot with its special sound, which was a decisive element of instrumental virtuosity and the demanding message. In their 55 years of existence, they have tried to steal themselves into the hearts of their multi-thousands of fans in a variety of musical styles-progressive rock, jazz rock, ethno-rock.

They are preparing to celebrate the significant anniversary with a varied show on Sunday.

– We will play a lot of guests at the Kölcsey Center, as we invited the old members and our good old friends. We are making a very colorful show, and in addition to our own compositions, the songs of the finest bands of blues and rock music – such as Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Free – are on the repertoire. The performance will be a kind of time travel, primarily with the music of the 1960s and ’70s, in the present-day view of Lux, where two members of the basic band, Sándor Pikó and Béla Makranczy, will help. Unfortunately, Miki Felkai is no longer among us, but of course we recall his memory with his songs and plays, as he was still a guitarist and composer who defines the image of our band.
