Cazanciuc, at the meeting with the US Delegation: « I presented a map »
PSD Senator Robert CazanciucVice -President of the Senate, said on Tuesday that he presented to the US Congressmen delegation present in Bucharest a map with the role and place of Romania in Europe and that the discussions took place with the strategic map on the table.
He explained, after the meeting in Parliament with the eight members of the US Congress visiting in our country, that from that map it appears that Europe is based on two ‘pillars’: one in the north – Poland and another in the south – Romania.
« He was a parliamentary component underlined by our American colleagues, not an executive component. They are for the first time in Romania. I also presented a map, which I will give you, with the role and place of Romania in Europe, with the two pillars-from the north and from the south. At the middle of Europe there is (a pillar-no) Romania. Part.
The PSD Senator pointed out that the members of the US Congress « did not come up with a particular agenda, did not come up with a particular theme, but simply came, from the wish of each of the members, to strengthen the relationship, knowing the good things that Romania has done, especially in the case of the conflict in Ukraine. »
« It was not a specific topic, I simply discussed everything in Romania and the situation in the United States in the general way. It was not discussed about » the election year as a problem. « I could even say that they have emphasized several times – and in the plenary, and in the particular ones – the fact that they have great confidence in the democracy in Romania, » Cazanciuc pointed out.
He mentioned that he has been at the table near a member of the US Congress, which emphasized, several times, « that the entire American delegation wants to give this unconditional support signal for Romania and that they will authorize the parliamentary diplomacy for any form of support that Romania will need and, very important, for the Republic of Moldova. »
A delegation of eight members of the US Congress, Democrats and Republicans, led by Vern Buhanan, met, at the Parliament Palace, with Romanian senators and deputies. The US delegation was led by Vern Buhanan and is accompanied by the US ambassador to Bucharest, Kathleen Kavalec.
