Castle Garden, Kaunas Summer Terrace and Taboo Club invites you to celebrate

Birthday opening – this Thursday, which will be crowned by the Stardust Trio Jazz live concert near Kaunas Castle, Kaunas Summer Terrace.

Briefly about the History of Castle Garden and Taboo

The complex, consisting of a historic Baroque building and a modern terrace, was revived in 2013. Its concept was created by entrepreneurs, and Rytis Publis, an architectural project, was created.

The building is extraordinary: Jonas Mackevičius (born 1872), one of the most famous Lithuanian artists and artists, lived here. In historical times, this place was a real center of attraction for Bohemian – painting lessons, concerts, gatherings.

During the Soviet era, like Kaunas Castle, this space was abandoned and forgotten – as if locked in a drawer. However, in 2013, after the acquisition of the building and the plot, its rebirth phase began.

The project included three stages: the reconstruction of historical architecture, the installation of the summer terrace and the construction of a new building, which in 2015. was among the top three architectural projects in Lithuania.

Today, the Castle Garden and Kaunas Summer Terrace are not only an important cultural space of the city, but also a living example of how historical places can be reborn in modern, preserving the spirit, but by opening the door for new generations.

10th birthday: Three-day events in the open

The Castle Garden and Kaunas Summer Terrace invite you to the anniversary weekend, during which free events, music, emotions and a special atmosphere in the Old Town, near Kaunas Castle, are waiting for everyone.

Thursday, 8pm, jazz evening with Stardust Trio

The opening of a birthday weekend will be crowned by the Stardust Trio performance, a jazz collective that contains percussion, piano and vocals. When created in 2023, they combine classical jazz aesthetics with contemporary sound and give listeners a cozy and exclusive musical experience.

Friday, at 8 pm, – vinyl and saxophone evening

The magic of vinyls will connect with the sound of a live saxophone – DJ Erich will allow authental analogue rhythms from his collection of plates, while Serge on Sax will complement them with improvisations. It is an evening where the sound of music will invite a real journey of emotions – no filters, no phonogram, just live sound.

Saturday, 7 pm, – Open Air DJ Set with DJ Rocky

The anniversary weekend will be completed by DJ Rocky, who has already become a resident – his carefully selected music will fill the Castle Garden space until midnight. Open sky, summer nights and dances are the perfect climax for a three -day celebration.

Friday and Saturday, from 11pm, – AFTERPARTY Night Club Taboo

Anyone who will reserve the table on the Kaunas Summer Terrace will enter the club « Taboo » for free. In addition, the nightclub also promises surprises and gifts for all visitors.

This weekend, the Castle Garden is becoming an epicenter of culture but also live music – history, art and music meet here. All events are free. Don’t miss the celebration!
