Case against Herman Brusselmans will again occur with other judge after the request for wrecking Walter van Steenbrugge (Ghent)

The judge of the Ghent correctional court against whom a request for wrecking was submitted by Walter van Steenbrugge, the lawyer of three people who authored Herman Brusselmans directly in response to his column in Weekblad Humohas decided to withdraw from the case. Belga learned that from the court. The case will now be dealt with again by another court, after the offending judge had previously acquitted Brusselmans in another case on direct summons.

That stated that Brusselmans was guilty of infringements of the Anti -Racism Act, the Anti -Discrimination Act and also the Negationism Act with the column and earlier writings, but the correctional court spoke free in that case on direct summons on 11 March.

A second direct summons is based on three people from Jewish corner who investigated the work of Brusselmans and went even further in time than the first direct summons. « It’s not just about one column, » said Walter van Steenbrugge, the lawyer of the three people, at the introduction of the case on 4 February.
The court then decided to impose conclusion periods in the second case and to argue on 6 May. « By splitting things, the rights of my clients were violated. The direct summons of my clients is the same with the first direct summons, » said Van Steenbrugge in February.
