Carenko Best on Golte, in the sum leads Johannesssen
Ukrainian Kirilo Carenko He surprisingly won the royal quarter stage in the cycling race across Slovenia. On the route from Maribor to the top of the ascent to Golte (175), it was the best from the group of fugitives. In the fight for a joint sum, the leadership was taken over by Norway Anders Halland Johannesssen. The best Slovenian was Jacob Omrzel in eighth place.
The Carenko (Solution Tech-Vini Fantini) celebrated his third career and season victory. This year he was the best in the Hainan race as common as one of the stages. In the fight for the overall victory, the big step was taken by Norwegian Anders Johannessen (Uno-X Mobility), who crossed the finish line as the third with a lag of 38 seconds. The fourth was the Austrian Felix Grossschartner (UAE Team Emirates-Xrg) with 41 seconds behind.
The 19-year-old Omrzel (Bahrain-Victorious) performed well, retaining the white T-shirt of the best young cyclist with eighth place. This time he was behind exactly a minute behind the winner. Johannesssen has 16 seconds ahead of Grossschartner and 19 ahead of British Taom Geoghegan Hart (Lidl-trse). The fourth was numb with only 35 seconds behind.
Slovenian fugitive
In the stage, six riders initially flee, including two Slovenes Anze jump (Adria Mobil) and Michael Stajnar (Pogi team). Above all, the latter targeted points on mountain goals. At the top of Volovljek (5.1 km/8.4 %), Štajnar took points and equalized in a blue T -shirt with a Swiss Fabiom Christen.
The fugitives had a good three minutes in Podvolovljek before the majority, which prepared the terrain for the last ascent of Golte (13.8 km/7.4 %). It started for about four minutes for fugitives, and the rhythm was dictated mainly by Lidl-Trek cyclists.
About 25 riders remained at the forefront of the majority, but the last fugitive could not be captured. The twenty -four -year -old Ukrainian lasted and celebrated the victory, and in the background, despite a few attacks, the strongest was Johannesssen, the rest of the small ones, which promises an interesting last stage.
This time, the Golte was also measured in the special campaign of the organizers « My Tour ». On the route between Mozir and the ascent of Golte, about 250 amateur riders were measured and celebrated Matej Lovše.
On Sunday, there will be the last stage from Litija to Novo mesto (123.7 km) at the 31th race across Slovenia. The last day of the Slovenian ribbon will also be possible to shift in the sum, after riders have to overcome the slope to Trebelno and Trška Gora (1.7 km/10.5 %) in the last 40 km only 10 km ahead of the finish line.
