Care for the elderly cannot determine the profit
The Ministry of Solidarity Future has not been informed about this, the portal report Uncensoredthat the Austrian company Senecura is expected to withdraw from the Slovenian network of the elderly and sold seven homes, which houses 851 residents, responded by the Minister Simon Maljevac. Senecuri, who manages the second largest private network of homes with a concession with us, say they do not comment on information concerning business changes or projects of new buildings. « We opened a new home in Pivka in March, which clearly confirms that Senecura remains firmly present in Slovenia, » they said.
« If the allegations are held, the Senecura case reveals the risks of leaving care for the older market, » Simon Maljevac, the Ministry of Solidarity, said yesterday, saying that the ministry was not informed of the intended sales. The concessionaires called for media reporting, potential buyers, the pursuit of the purpose of caring for the elderly in these conditions, and the fulfillment of obligations from concession contracts, especially in locations where the facilities have not yet been built or fully operational. They expect answers by tomorrow morning. Minister Maljevac also stressed: « The public network of the elderly home is the spine of the system – the elderly are not marketable goods. »
Denis SahernikSEZS Secretary, says: “We constantly defend the view that the state must take care of the development of a public network where users can choose themselves for the most appropriate contractor, public institute or concessionaire, not discriminated against. We emphasize that the legislation and strategic documents are strictly complied with. Namely, demographic projections and analyzes clearly show where the need to spread the public network are. «
