Car with seven young people crashes heavily after Galabal: one in his twenties seriously injured after being hurled from hood (inland)
In Veurne in West Flanders, a young twenties were injured on Sunday night after a car drove into street furniture at a party room. There were two people on the hood of the car at the time of the accident.

Brandweer Westhoek was called around 4.30 a.m. on Sunday night for a clamped person in Veurne. It turned out to be an accident on Nijverheidsstraat near the access road to and the parking of the Furnevent room. The GalaUif Bunnybal was organized there on Sunday night.

According to the first findings of police zone Spoorkin, one car was involved in the accident. The car had landed against street furniture. It was a wooden beam with posts at the start of a cycle path, near the intersection of the access road and Nijverheidsstraat. According to the police, at the time of the accident, five people were in the car and two people on the hood, all young people in their twenties from Alveringem.

One of the people on the hood, a 21-year-old man, was thrown off the car, crashed heavily against the wooden construction and suffered serious injuries. The victim was taken to the hospital. There was no question of intoxication by alcohol or drugs at the driver of the car, a 20-year-old man.
Due to the accident, his driver’s license was immediately withdrawn for a period of fifteen days. A blood test was also taken from the victim for further investigation. The crashed car suffered major damage to the hood and had to be towed. The fire brigade cleared the debris and cleaned the road surface.
