A car drove through a waiting amount of football fans shortly before the city derby between Espanyol Barcelona and FC Barcelona. According to new police, 15 people were injured near the stadium, none of them were serious. At first, 13 injuries were reported. The incident also overshadowed the early win of the championship title for Barça with coach Hansi Flick with the 2-0 (0: 0) victory.

Video recordings of the incident aroused bad memories of terrible attacks with cars. But after an initial assessment, the police assumed an accident in which an older driver had lost violence over her vehicle, as the newspaper « La Vanguardia » reported.

Briefly chaotic location

The driver had driven her car into an area with many football fans near the Espanyol Stadium, which was closed to traffic.
