The data center expects that traffic in Moscow will become more uniform, since drivers will be able to slow down in advance before the intersections. The service will also help to more accurately calculate the route and more often use the “green waves” when traveling around the city, according to Yandex.

I learned the details of the Kommersant pilot project in the Central Department of Internal Affairs. They said that the automated road traffic control system will be transmitted in real time about the signals of traffic lights to the 2GIS navigation system. Drivers used in advance can see in advance what lights are on the nearest traffic light and how many seconds remains until the next phase. The new option will work in the near future in test mode on Tsvetnoy Boulevard, in the first Khodynsky passage, on the streets of Margelov, the air designer of the Sukhoi and Vernia.

“The technology is synchronized with intellectual traffic lights and displays only those signals that are relevant for a specific user route,” Kommersant explained “Kommersant” – this excludes confusion at intersections and makes trips more predictable and safe. Yandex also develops a service that allows you to track the phases of traffic lights in navigators, this was confirmed by Kommersant by the company representative Dmitry Gorchakov. “Now in the work there are several prototypes of product solutions for Yandex Card and for cross-platform services,” he said. “The signal shift timer demonstrates that it is time to focus on continuing the trip and orienting whether he will have time to drive on green. And during the hours of free flow, the application will be able to recommend a speed at which a route in the Green Wave can be more likely to drive. Information about the signals will increase the accuracy of the forecast of the time of arrival and display of the road load map. ” Mr. Gorchakov does not exclude that the technology will also be integrated into a taxi service: for example, users will report that the taxi driver stood on a traffic light on the way to them.

In Moscow, according to the data center, there are 63.5 thousand traffic lights, all of them are included in the intellectual transport system of the city. Some of them work according to a predetermined fixed program, some are synchronized among themselves to ensure uniform traffic. The so -called smart traffic lights operating in adaptive mode are installed for 1 thousand intersections: they independently analyze the situation on the road through transport sensors and induction loops built into the coating and adjust the cycles in real time.
