Can’t think of not owning goats
« We have been with goats for almost 60 years, » says Vilhjálmur Grímsson, farmer at Rauðá in the Thingeyjarsveit. For a long time, Rauðá was the only town in the countryside that had goats, but Vilhjálmur says that some had added.
« I’m starting to reduce myself now, but I can’t think of not having the goats, » he says, even though farming is more fun because he has not been much selling the products.
« It is expensive to boil the elements, but we have used the meat something. But it is possible to comb from the wool that is very nice, » he says, but no one has offered to knit a goat sweater.
Spring the sweetie

When asked if the spring is not next when the kittens are in the house, he says that there may not be a direct connection between them, but there is a small number in the countryside. « It’s a temperature of 14 degrees now, but we farmers are not too happy with it, because then the vegetation starts to take over and if it freezes again it has a bad effect. »
Climb over fences
Vilhjálmur says goats are extremely curious creatures and sensible. « They are very interested in the environment and are human and good fortune. » When asked if they could not best be on steep slopes, he says they are very large climbing animals. « But we do not have a lot of mountains here with me now, but they don’t let any fences stop if they are curious about what is on the other side. We have rather made stairs over the fences so they don’t get to them, but sometimes they get into the plains they don’t get.
Everyone is welcome
Vilhjálmur says that many groups have visited him to see the kittens in the spring, and often school children have come in groups. « It has diminished now. It is this thought today that there is some intrusion if people look at a visit, which I feel sorry, and people are much less to go between towns today. But here everyone is welcome to be at home. »
The kittens are in Vilhjálmur, but they are human with variants and are well acquainted with all communication with both children and adults.
