Canoverman lawyer Ridouan Taghi extended by sixty days

The custody of Vito Shukrula, the former lawyer of top criminal Ridouan Taghi, is extended by sixty days. The council chamber of the Amsterdam District Court reports this on Friday. The lawyer is detained on suspicion of participation in the criminal organization of Ridouan Taghi.

Shukrula is currently in restrictions and can therefore only have contact with his lawyer. The council chamber may extend the provisional detention of Vito Shukrula by a maximum of ninety days, after which a public session must take place.

The 36-year-old criminal lawyer was arrested last week after a visit to his client in the extra secure institution (EBI) in Vught. He was since the end of November, together with Carlo Crince Le Roy and later Sultan Kat, Taghi lawyer. In December, however, a criminal investigation into Shukrusta already began. After his arrest, the Public Prosecution Service announced that the Security Service had reported that « the lawyer passed on reports from his client to persons from the criminal network of T. » «  »

Third time

It is now the third lawyer of Taghi who has been arrested since the start of the Marengo process. In 2023, Youssef T., the cousin of Taghi and at the time also his lawyer, was convicted of passing on messages between the heavily guarded criminal and the outside world. Inez Weski followed in his footsteps, who is currently still playing a criminal proceedings for the same suspicions.

Last Wednesday, Le Roy and Kat announced that they were resigning Taghi’s defense. With that, Taghi is again in the liquidation case without legal assistance. The Amsterdam Court of Appeal wants to discuss the lawyer issue of Taghi at the next session, early June, writes ANP news agency.
