Canceling election is still possible

May 6, at 24:00, is the deadline for which applications can be made to cancel the elections on the grounds of electoral fraud.

These can be submitted by the political parties, the political or electoral alliances, the organizations of the citizens belonging to the national minorities represented in the Council of National Minorities and the candidates who participated in the elections. The request, thoroughly motivated and accompanied by the evidence on which it is based, is addressed to the Constitutional Court.

On May 8, the Central Electoral Bureau will submit to the Constitutional Court the minutes, together with the minutes of finding and centralizing the results of the voting drawn up by the county electoral offices, the electoral offices of the sectors of Bucharest, the electoral bureau for the polling stations from abroad and the electoral offices of the voting sections.

After receiving the file from the Central Electoral Bureau and solving the applications for the cancellation of the elections for the electoral fraud, the CCR validates the elections and publishes their result in the media and in the Official Gazette.

At the latest on May 9, the first name and name of the two candidates who will participate in the second round, as well as the date of elections will be brought to public.

On May 9, the election campaign begins for the second round.

The elections take place on May 18. The candidate who will obtain the largest number of validly expressed votes will be chosen.
