Can no longer remember children’s birthday

In mid -May, Tobias Hansen, along with two of his children, went on holiday in Skallerup Klit.

The family had planned the trip well in advance, but the DR host has no memory of it. During a peaceful walk with sons Hugo and Mio hit the disaster: a cardiac arrest that broke his legs under not only Tobias but also the whole family.

He lay unconscious for three days and lost memory for at least 14 days until the episode – and partly the time after.

« I can’t remember anything at all. It’s pretty crazy how the brain just turns off completely, » he says.

Violently and frustrating

Many Danes know Tobias Hansen from programs like ‘Do you know the type?’, ‘League’ and DR’s coverage of the Tour de France.

But at the time of writing, Tobias is not the experienced TV host you meet today. Instead, he is a man who struggles with confusion and fatigue – and who can no longer take his memory for granted.

« I can feel I will be quickly confused and tired of my head. I clearly have a harder time remembering things now here. If you ask me what my children’s birthday date is, I can’t remember it, » he says honestly.

After longer hospitalization, Tobias Hansen was recently discharged with an implantable heart starter in the body-an ICD device that will in future take care of him.
