Leo Goretti: My reading is: Italy needs the USA for its own security and Europe is needed for its prosperity. This is also aware of this government and it will do everything they can to preserve this model. So I believe that Meloni really wants to convey between Europe and the USA. She knows that she has to move within the European framework – and will not leave this framework, for example through independent, bilateral negotiations with the USA.
