Even at the moment, they are not inspired, it is difficult to see a positive global direction in them – at least if we are watching from the point of view of our region -, and it seems that we are again in a role where we do not really say our own destiny.
« Do we have to prepare for all scenarios? Yes, we have to prepare. Does that mean that the war is inevitable? No, that does not mean, » Rinkevich points out, and at the same time admits that his job is to calm people and mobilize them at the same time. «
« It's not easy, believe me! » He adds yet. And it really has to be agreed – not only the president of one small country is not easy in these conditions of tension. Because even in their daily friends' conversations, questions about what decisions have made to each, if the unnamed scenario will come true. Because we have mostly returned or even fallen in the most frightening position than the time before Russia's open aggression in Ukraine. Because the courage and self -reliance show and audible in everyday news are not promoted in any way. And then you don't want to ask yourself chamletic questions, trying to understand both your ability and the level of ability in emergencies in a timely manner. Perhaps the only reasonable answer to it is everyone to try to calm down and mobilize at the same time.
Andris Vilks, the longtime director of the National Library of Latvia, has once been convinced that more than one generation will not be ready to contact only through the computer, continuing to alienate. People's contacts in his opinion will be important. « And they will happen in modern libraries. More recently, I saw two new readers kissing … » he said.
