California: The Governor has appealed to justice – calls for interim measures to block the army

The Governor in California is trying to prevent the suppression of the Los Angeles mobilizations for immigration by the army.

He calls on the court to issue an order that will prevent Donald Trump and Defense Minister Pitt Hegschez to enforce the law with the army.

Governor Gavin Newsom and the Attorney General in California, Rod Bonda, in their appeal to court argue that « the US president is looking for any pretext to place military forces on the US roads to intimidate and silence them. »

Gavin Newsom has also accused the US president of having « dictatorships ».

« It’s not just unethical. It is illegal and dangerous, ”adds to the text. The lawsuit calls for a decision immediately.

Donald Trump and Defense Minister Pitt Hegschet – whom California sued yesterday – « intend to use illegal federal troops of the National Guard and Marines to accompany federal imposition officers » Bonda, in court documents. The deposit states:

« The competition of the federal government, through the presence of soldiers on the streets, has already caused real and irreparable damage to the city of Los Angeles, the people living there and in the state of California. He has to stop right away. «

‘Trump behaves like a tyrant’

« The federal government is now turning the army against US citizens. The mission of trained soldiers to the streets is unprecedented and threatens the core of our Republic itself, « the California governor said.

And he added: « Donald Trump behaves like a tyrant, not as president. We ask the court to immediately prevent these illegal actions. «

The request comes a day after Newsom and Bonda filed a lawsuit in questioning the development of 4,000 Donald Trump men in Los Angeles as « illegal ». The US president’s order, they said, « violated » the sovereignty of the state of California.

Monday night, hundreds of soldiers were transferred to Los Angeles, despite the objections of democratic officials and despite the concerns of local law enforcement authorities.

Mayor’s appeal: Stop raids

Los Angeles mayor, Karen Bas, also asked the US president to stop the ICE (ICE) raids.

He said the city authorities have been informed that Ice raids could continue for the next 30 days, if not more. « This feeling of intimidation and terror is so unnecessary and so corrosive for our city, » he said at a press conference on Tuesday. The mayor said he would call President Trump asking him to stop the raids.

He also denied Donald Trump’s claim on Saturday that the National Guard helped protect the city. Because the soldiers arrived in Los Angeles essentially on Monday. Bass said that the men of the National Guard are « parked » and protect the federal building of Los Angeles.

« They do not control a crowd or something. So I don’t know how it could say that it is the ethnicity that saved the situation. The one that saved the situation was the local law enforcement services, « said Karen Bas.
