Bydgoszcz police detained Lithuanian, who stole a motorhome in Germany
Thanks to cooperation with the Polish-German Center for Cooperation of Border, Police and Customs Services in Świecko, officers quickly reacted to the signal and regained the car. The man was temporarily arrested for three months.
Stopping on national road No. 25
Information about a stolen camper arrived in Bydgoszcz police officers around 11:30. A dozen or so minutes later a traffic patrol, serving on motorcycles, noticed a vehicle corresponding to the description on national road No. 25. Despite the changed license plates, officers stopped the vehicle for inspection at the node in Stryszek.
Lithuanian citizen without authorization
A 45-year-old Lithuanian citizen sat behind the wheel of a motorhome. Policemen noticed a damaged ignition and fuel filler. Checking the identification data confirmed that the vehicle was stolen last night in Germany. In addition, the man drove without a valid driving license, which expired in August 2023.
Allegations and detention on remand
The next day, the evidence gathered allowed Lithuanian allegations of passage and the use of false license plates. At the request of policemen and the prosecutor, the court temporarily arrested the man for three months. He faces a penalty of up to 10 years imprisonment.
