By car in a bunch of Liverpool fans: dozens of injured, including children – BBC News in Serbian
At least 50 people, including four children, was injured when a man cared in a bunch of people during the Liverpool fan parade, which celebrated the championship title in the Premier League.
Nearly 30 injured was transferred to hospitals, and two have serious injuries, including a child, local authorities said.
The competent say that the case is not kept as a terrorist act and they have requested from their not to speculate or spread rumors, disturbing shots and social networks.
The police arrested a 53-year-old man for whom he was believed to operate the vehicle.
« Everything happened about three meters from us, » he told the British news agency, so Harry Rashid (48), who was on a parade with his wife and two small daughters.
« My daughter started screaming, there were people on earth. I saw people lie unconscious. It was awful, » he said.
The BBC journalist who was at the point of incident, said that he almost injured himself in the accident.
The driver who managed the car, in all, said, he didn’t even try to stop, he added.
The winning parade, organized on the occasion of the conquest of the title in the Premier League, ranged on the route for a long 16 kilometers.
At the head of the column was an open bus on whose roof they were Liverpool football players.
Due to the parade, more streets were closed.
British Prime Minister Kir Starmer said the incident in Liverpool was « terrible ».
« My thoughts are with everyone who was injured or in any way, » he said.
