It is a summer day of work, and a lot of people are looking for a cooling in the Blaarmeersen. All places for non-people from Genten were sold out before 10 am. For Gentenaars itself there is still room on the beach.
Gentenaars can just walk in, but those who live elsewhere have to reserve a ticket for a few years to get the Blaarmeersen. On Thursday, the RMI predicted no less than 28 degrees Celsius, which made it storm in the online reservation tool.
All those tickets were sold out before 10 a.m. Anyone who lives or studying in Ghent was still allowed in. Around half past three in the afternoon it was busy, but the maximum capacity of 4,500 places on the beach was not yet reached.
The good news: there were still tickets enough for Friday, and that also promises to be a great day for a fresh dive.
Reservations can be made on Reserve-blaarmeersen.be.
That it was a hot day was also shown in Lago Rozebroeken: there they announced there in the afternoon that the swimming paradise was full. Only those who had reserved a place online could still come and swim.
