On Sunday evening there was a major fire in the center of Stinatz (Güssing district). Two historical buildings were completely destroyed. 170 firefighters stood in the fire -fighting rate until night. The fire may have been triggered by a flash.
The emergency call received around 21.18. When the first emergency services from the Stinatz volunteer fire brigade arrived, large parts of the roof were already in full fire. « Dense smoke, wind and meter -high flames made immediate massive fire fighting necessary, » reports FF Stinatz. The emergency services were able to prevent the flames from spreading to other buildings of the affected home house as well as adjacent single -family houses and the fire station.
