Matthias van Oost could not believe his eyes when he wanted to start his working day on Wednesday morning. The co -manager of PowerCars in the Torhoutsesteenweg in Loppem found a havoc around 7.45 am on arrival: doors were forced and all desks were completely turned upside down. « I immediately called the police, » says Matthias. « They came to the scene for the necessary findings and trace research. »

Every corner of the case was completely turned upside down. « A lot of car keys were on the floor, » says Mathias. « Then the worst was yet to come: the unique Lamborghini Urus turned out to be stolen. » Camera images show how two masked men penetrate into the building. The key to the stolen car could not get the burglars, but the car was unlocked in a different way. « This is the first time we have experienced something like that, » says Matthias sighing. « There is an anti-car jacking system on the car, but that turned out to be deactivated. » The latter suggests that the perpetrators had knowledge.

The brothers decided to keep the case closed for a day on Wednesday to report the police and to obtain the theft. In addition, they shared a call on social media to report tips as quickly as possible. « The burglary happened around 4.15 pm, » says Matthias. « Anyone who lives in the neighborhood and has seen something suspicious may always come and report that. » Police zone Het Houtsche confirms that there is currently an investigation. « In the interest of the research, we absolutely cannot say more, » says press spokeswoman Lien Vermeersch.
