US Defense Minister Pete Hegseth again found himself in the center of controversy after the media revealed that he allegedly shared sensitive details about the Hute military attack in Yemen through another private group on the signal application. This group included his wife, brother and personal lawyer, which caused a new avalanche of criticism and questions about Pentagon security procedures, just weeks after a similar incident.

Second signal Group: Details of the attack divided with the nearest

According to reports The New York Times And Reuters, who are referred to the sources familiar with the situation, Hegsetth shared information on the attack on March 15 in the second signal called « Defense | Team Huddle ».

He allegedly discovered details such as F/A-18 Hornet fighter flight arrangements that were targeting Hut’s positions. This information, according to the sources, was almost identical to those that were unintentionally divided into the first signal of the group, which also included the editor -in -chief of The Atlantic.

The second group, allegedly created by Hegsetth on his private phone during the confirmation process for the Minister, was originally intended to discuss administrative and organizational issues. She included a dozen people from his closest circle of associates and family. Among them were his wife Jennifer Rauchet Hegsetth, a former Fox News producer who has no security permit but was seen at meetings with foreign military officials, his brother Phil Hegsetth, who works as a connection between the Ministry of Homeland Security and Pentagon, and personal lawyer Timothy C. Parlators. Sources state that Hegsetha has warned his advisers that he does not share operational details in this group, which, although crippled, does not meet the safety standards for communication on highly sensitive military operations.
