In her book « nutrient therapy », doctor Helena Orfanos-Boeckel also writes that a bright yellow urine is quite normal. There is vitamin behind it B2. It naturally has a sun yellow color and colored the urine yellow after work. « This proves that you have absorbed vitamin B2 in the intestine well and that you also leave it well again, » writes the metabolic expert.
According to the consumer advice center, even high amounts of vitamin B12 can discolor the urine. It can then become orange or even red. However, the coloring by nutritional supplements can differ from person to person because they depend on the metabolism.

The consumer advice center advises to check the package insert in the event of a discolored urine. If necessary, the manufacturer points out that there can be a color change after taking it. If this is not the case, you should keep an eye on your health and pay attention to whether you have pain when urinating. There can also be blood behind a reddish discoloration of the urine. Even if the urine is constantly cloudy, according to the consumer center, you should « seek a doctor’s office for safety reasons ».
As the German pharmacist newspaper reports, certain medication can also color the urine red, but also beetroot, carrots or blackberries can color the urine red, orange or brown. Incidentally, iron supplements can even color the urine black.
