The image of partisans on a truck, which on May 9 in 1945 enthusiastically welcomes the people of Ljubljana, is one of the many iconic photographs from the end of World War II. The optimism and joy that are made from the picture have also found a place on a special brand, which was published by Pošta Slovenije with four other in the Mir Series.

The commission for the issuance of postal securities is decided by which brands will be included in the edition for each year. “Proposal to issue a mark on 80th anniversary of the end Second World War We have received from the Association of Fighters’ Association for the Values ​​of the NOB, a proposal to mark Partisan ski But it was given by the Idrija Philatelic Society. The whole series was presented on Thursday at the premises of the Cerkno Museum – not by accident. The purpose of publishing a series of five stamps, which each invoke the image of peace, is clear – to point out the anniversary of the end of the war and, above all, remind people how important it is to commit to peace so that such terrible seas will no longer be repeated. But today, when people are almost no longer sending postcards, letters and postcards, can it even attract attention?

“The decline in the number of letters is the reality that all postal operators are dealing with. But precisely because we receive less and fewer letters, postcards and greeting cards at home, brands have more special value. I am convinced that we first notice and look at the postal brand on a postcard or greeting card. However, casual postage stamps, such as the Mir Series, are in fact intended for more collectors and less to use in postal traffic. Of course, we can also send letters to them, but most of them end up in the collecting albums of philatelists around the world, « added Simona Koser Šavora.

According to her, publishing postage stamps is a special privilege of postal operators, and most people are probably not aware of their importance and mission: “Despite their small size, the big promoters of our country. They also connect individuals through postal shipments and in the hobby of brand collection, which combines collectors around the world. «

And peace means not only a state without war, but also a state of harmony and cooperation between nations and individuals, « said the interviewee.

Patriotism, dedication, peace

The motifs on the brands will surely each attract attention and revive the memory of the facts that may have heard of the school history in elementary school. The newspaper began to be published in November 1943 as a military newsletter of the Triglav Division of the National Liberation Army and Partisan Detachments of Slovenia, and then from February to May 1944 there was a military newsletter IX. Corps of the new and the aforementioned detachments, and on June 1, 1944, became the newsletter of the Liberation Front for the Primorska and Gorenjska region. Since September this year, he was printed in two hidden prints in Idrija in around 4,000 copies, occasionally even 7,000 copies. After liberation, it was renamed on 13 May 1945 in Coastal dailythis one comes today as the central newsletter of Slovenes in Italy.
