Postal company Bpost is introducing a new and improved shipping process for sending mourning messages. « Because every mourning letter is now individually followed by Bpost, the customer receives certainty about delivering, » the postal company reports Thursday. The rate remains the same.
Central to the new way of sending is a striking, red bag, equipped with a unique barcode, which must guarantee accurate tracing of each shipment. « This bag is delivered to the family by the funeral center. The family puts its mourning letters in the bag and brings it to a post office of your choice before 16 hours. Using stamps is not necessary, » said Bpost.
The mourning letters then go to their destination via an extra secure and accelerated circuit within Bpost. The postal company says via internal tracking at any time where a mourning letter is located and therefore also when it arrives. The invoicing afterwards is automatically via the funeral center.
According to Bpost, a « almost perfect result » was achieved during a four -month test phase on the mourning messages sent. The improved shipping process was developed in collaboration with sector federation Funebra, which represents 700 funeral centers in Belgium.
