Bozinovic: Police responded well in Split’s riots
Police solved violence on the streets in the same day, managed to arrest almost 200 people, 144 duly reported to the State Attorney’s Office, and then that went to court, Bozinovic said ahead of the HDZ Presidency session, referring to Saturday’s riots before and after the Dinamo and Hajduk match in Split.
Criminal charges, he added, were made for very serious offenses, for which prison sentences from a minimum of six months to as much as five years were obstructed.
He recalled that last year, 50 people were arrested and criminally reported after the Hajduk and Dinamo match in Split, but, to his knowledge, any non -final verdict was rendered, which means that everyone was reported at large.
He added that for a number of people there are recordings that clearly show who they were and what they did.
« I don’t think there is a big procedure here. I think everything is clear here, » the minister said.
One can talk about the penalties increase, but he thinks that the existing ones are good, you just need to be pronounced to have a preventive effect.
« If nothing happens to them (hooligans), then it encourages them, » he said.
The number of arrested on Saturday is Zoran proof that the police are doing their job, he added.
Asked for the safety aspect of Marko Perkovic Thompson’s concert, in July at the Hippodrome in Zagreb, he said that a special headquarters were founded in this regard, including all the lines of police work, civil protection and agencies involved in security issues. They also have a subjugoriar organized at the Zagreb Police Directorate level.
He confirmed that the anti -terrorist department of the police will be included, which, together with other agencies, intensively collects all the information about the people who bought the tickets and who should come. Information is exchanged by the European anti -terrorist center that is part of Europol.
« We have no knowledge of any threats right now, if we had them, then we would inform the public, » he said.
