Border Guard / Riga Volleyball players come from the Latvian Championship title / Day
Rigans beat « Ezerzeme » https://www.dien.lv/ « Daugavpils University » (« Ezerzeme »/DU) in the third match of the finals with 3-1 (19:25, 25:23, 25:16, 25:19) and 2-1 in the series.
The winners were Patrick Pinka, 18 – Tom Vanags and 14 – Matisse Gabdulin. All three each scored three points in the block, with Pink also standing out with two « goals ».
Naked Wilson, Eric Voronko and Sandis Vilcans scored 11 points for Daugavpils.
In the first battle in Riga, the Rigans won with 3-2, but at the weekend Daugavpils residents revenged with 3-0 on their pitch.
The next match is scheduled for Saturday in Daugavpils.
« Border Guard » https://www.dien.lv/ « Riga » in the semi-finals by 2-0 beat « Seaside » https://www.dien.lv/ « Murjāņu Sports Gymnasium » (« Seaside »/MSG) team, while Daugavpils players beat Jekabpils « Lūšus » by 2-0.
In the Baltic League Main Event « Border Guard » https://www.dien.lv/ « Riga » took third place, while « Ezerzeme »/DU ranked sixth. In the quarterfinals, the teams met with each other, winning 3-1 and 3-1 by Daugavpils.
Prior to that, Riga volleyball players (3-0, 3-2 and 3-1) were superior three times.
In the battle for bronze prizes in the series up to two wins, « Lūši » is in the lead with a 1-0 fight against « Seaside »/MSG unit.
Last year « Lūši » in the finals with a 3-1 win over « Ezerzeme »/DU unit.
