Did not enter the Communion

« My mother, lulled by communist ideas, propaganda, became a member of the Communist Party in the post -war period, but after seeing what the communists were doing with her people, sending people to camps, exile, about 1950, lost a member of the Communist member and did not write a new statement. The same thing happened to my older brother for me thirteen years. He also saw what the Soviet authorities were doing in Lithuania, and also chose – as a student at Vilnius University, he helped the Komsomol’s ticket on the table at a meeting of one public Komsomol organization and said he did not want to be in such an organization. He was thrown from university for this. It is a pity that he did not receive Lithuania’s independence – died of a serious illness at the age of 42. By the way, my sister was party, but she was very pleased with the freedom of Lithuania.

It was also an opportunity for me to join the Communion. Such an occasion occurred in 1969, when I moved from the Vilnius State Academic Drama Theater to work at Kaunas Drama Theater, where Jonas Jurašas had begun construction of Kazys Saja Šventežeris. I played Ramune in that performance. After the first 1970 I was immediately reached on the scene of a successful appearance – it was suggested to join the Communist. When I was told to go to one party instructors of the Communist Party Committee of Kaunas City (the committee was located in the current building of Kaunas City Municipality), he told me: « If you do not agree to become a member of the Communist Party, you will never receive the name of a deserving artist! So think, » she says.

« What to think here – I went to theater director Romuald Tumpas, asking for help. He was like a father as a father – he helped just as he could. Not just about smoking

« What is my daily routine? » « Repeats the question. » – Simple and normal without thinking about tomorrow. Why don’t I think? The Gospel writes: Don’t worry tomorrow – every day I have to go through both fire and water. The cigarette, with my eyes around the sky, on the ninth floor of my apartment.

By the way, about smoking. I will never forget the sensitive theater director and educator Vytautas Čibiro, who taught us in the Soviet era at the Lithuanian State Conservatoire. It was a man sent to me by fate. Not just because he invited me, a student, to play at the State Drama Theater. By the way, my first role was in Ramutė Skučaitė’s play « And the Right to Love », which in 1967. Directed by Stefa Nosevičiūtė. I remember the human behavior of Mr Chibir when he saw me half -lived in the Conservatory on his chairs. When he came in, he asked, « What is it now? » I explained that it became very bad because I smoked the first cigarette in my life. V. Chibir, gently touching me with my shoulder, said, « Lay it down. Lay … We will rehearse another episode of play where you are not, » Doloresa recalls.

I like detective novels

“After the morning ritual with coffee and a cigarette, I go to 12 p.m. Mass at the Crew Church, from there to Mary Radio, which I consider to be a gift of destiny. Because I make books there. Look – and the evening is off. In the evening I look at Animal Planet. Of course, I will immediately turn this channel off if there is a hint of cruel behavior. Just hate hunters – after all, it is enough to look at the eyes of a shot or injured roe deer … Well, and the most pleasant hours of my bed in bed. You’ll be surprised, but now I really like the detective novels of Scandinavian writers. As I read them, I forget all things and things, misfortunes. By the way, in recent years there have been so many disasters that… But I have done it, ”says D. Kazragytė.

Summers neighborhood with K. Saja

« When I could no longer climb the wooden staircase, neither the attic or kitchen of the house, I had to sell the structure. Of course, I made it with a sopping heart, but there was no way – I had no money for big repairs and it became dangerous to live in a collapsing house. During the warm season, I was used to leaving the lake for decades, mushrooming, berry, writing…

Once I talked about it with Vida, who works at the Ąžuolynas Library. It was she who offered me to work and summer in Rūdnelė village, 6 km from Marcinkonys. There is a house-museum of graphic artist Gražina Great, under the care of the ethnologist, professor, doctor of social sciences Vygandas Čaplikas-the heir of the graphic artist’s creative rights and the disseminator of her works. I gladly agreed with such a wonderful opportunity to spend summers in Dzūkija Forest. True, there is no TV in that house, and the village is a shop, but the writer Kazys Saja lives in the neighborhood. It sparks humor as before. The flag of the Lithuanian state flies in the yard of his homestead. I visit him. Mostly he speaks – I’m just listening. By the way, Saja was friends with my brother when we lived in Telšiai in Soviet times. So we know not only during performances in the theater. The writer, who is 93 in June, drives a car and always asks before driving to the nearest store what I would buy, ”says Doloresa.
