Bomb threat triggered the evacuation of the Ljubljana court

I also thank the police and other competent services for quick and professional action, « Katič wrote in a statement published on the Ministry’s website.
The Minister noted that such incidents are not only a direct threat to people’s safety, but also represent an obvious attempt to press on the judicial system, which is considered one of the foundations of the rule of law. « We will respond to every such incident as a state as a state and in accordance with the law, » she assured.
In her response, she repeated her already expressed position: “As I repeatedly repeat – the judiciary must do its work independently and without fear. I express support and respect to all those who work in the judiciary – their work is crucial for the security, justice and confidence of people in the country. ”The Ministry of Justice will, as Katič, announced, together with the court management and law enforcement agencies, closely monitor the further course of the investigation and, if necessary, strengthened the existing security protocols.

Today’s threat to a bomb in Ljubljana is not an isolated case of such events in Slovenia. Already on Wednesday, similar threats were received in the courts in Maribor, Ljubljana and Celje. Police investigate these cases as a suspected crime of causing general danger. Both the Supreme Court and the Judicial Council expressed his conviction over repeated threats on Thursday. Both bodies called on the competent authorities to have a thorough investigation into events. According to the Supreme Court, such acts « must not have a place in society ». The Judicial Council, however, believes that threats to judges « are not only an attack on individuals, but on the entire judicial system and the Slovenian constitutional order. »
