The interim president, Ilie Bolojan, sent a message on Sunday on the occasion of Romanians’ day everywhere showing that the Romanian state has the obligation to be ‘present, attentive and open to the diaspora’, to listen, to understand and to build support policies for Romanian citizens from across the borders.

‘Today is an important day for all those who have Romania in their soul, wherever they are. Through work, efforts, values ​​and habits you keep in families, carry on, even away from home, our identity as a people. Life away from home is not easy. Walk challenges, make sacrifices, but don’t be discouraged. Romania needs you, not only as ambassadors of our identity, but also as partners in development projects.
