Bolojan defends Hurezeanu
Interim President Ilie Bolojan said on Thursday, asked about the performance of the Foreign Minister Emil Hurezeanu, and if he should take a step back, that « if you criticize you who have to perform in public you do nothing but have their ability to perform. »
He said that, from his experience in administration, when he had such problems, he preferred to analyze them several times and when he was convinced that a change was required, he did.
« I do not have an experience of years in administering national positions, this is the truth, but I have an experience of over 20 years in the local administration. From this experience I have learned something. If you criticize people who have to perform in public, you only have to know their ability to perform, not just as a person, but to have such a person. Or, three times and when I was convinced that a change is required, I did not talk about it because it would not have helped me. I don’t know if it helps us, ”Bolojan said.
The interim president participated, in Paris, in the meeting of the heads of state and government of the « Coalition of the Willing » on Security in Ukraine.
Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu informed on Wednesday that he is going to talk to the interim president Ilie Bolojan about the mandate of the Foreign Minister.
The head of the Executive mentioned that Emil Hurezeanu is « an exceptional diplomat, a man with experience, with experience, an excellent ambassador », but the new US administration policy shows « another dynamic ».
Asked if he took into account the dismissal of Hurezeanu, the prime minister replied: « I do not demit anyone, I just announced that I will have a discussion with the interim president of Romania, Mr. Bolojan. »
He claimed that the relationship with the US « is not damaged », asked how Romania improves the relationship with the United States.
The prime minister added that the announcement coming from the American side on the Visa Waiver program is related to the « new Trump administration’s immigration policy ».
