BM Labor Party Fiture Surprising in the partial elections of the Scottish Parliament
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer greeted today the victory of his Labor Party candidate, Davy Russell, in the partial elections of the Scottish Parliament.
Russell won at Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonehouse Hamilton – the Scottish Parliament (Holyrood) Parliament – covering part of the South Lanarkshire Council area – after the death of Scottina McKelvie, from the Scottish National Party (SNP).
It is also one of the nine constituencies in the central Scotland electoral region, which elects seven additional members, except for the nine members of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) of the constituencies, to produce a form of proportional representation for the region as a whole.
« Citizens in Scotland have voted again for change, » Starmer said today on social media.
« Next year there is a chance to reinforce the result by placing the ruling Labor Party on both sides of the border. I look forward to working with you, » Starmer added.
Labor party candidate Davy Russell won against SNP candidate Katy Loudon-who suffered its third loss since 2023.
The victory comes in the background of national surveys that set the Scottish Labor Party in third place after the SNP and « Reform UK » – strengthening the efforts of the Scottish Labor Party leader Anas Sarwar to become Scotland’s first minister in next year.
The « Reform UK » party led by Nigel Farage has increased-ranking third, with only 800 votes away from SNP. ATA
