Blakstad’s dream goals decided Derbyt – Hammarby up in series leadership
It was a seemingly even Swedish derby that would take place on a sunny channel plan between Hammarby and Djurgården. But the facts spoke mainly to the home team, even though it only separated one point between the tabletan and the four before the meeting.
Before the meeting, Hammarby had won seven of the last nine meetings between the teams. The last time Djurgården got to celebrate was 2021 when winning 2-1 at home at Stockholm Stadium.
Hammarby’s fine fact Against its Stockholm rival, it also looked to hold on when already in the third minute opened the goal scorer. After a well-balanced corner of the recent European Championships Smilla Holmberg, Asato Miyagawa put his head there and were able to joint 1-0 for the home team.
After the goal, Hammarby was presented even more by the home crowd and it seemed to be a long evening for the restrained Djurgård supporters.
Vilde Hasund and Stina Lennartsson passed by on the edges, Ellen Wangerheim created the surface centrally and Miyagawa collected and distributed balls in the midfield. But once Djurgården got hold of the ball on the offensive half through Pauline Hammarlund and Urara Watanbe, the attack duo became far too lonely.
When the quarter was played Growing the away team into the match slightly but Hammarby did not let go of the grip. In wave after wave, the home team attacked and immediately got the ball into the offensive penalty area. But despite the pressure, Djurgården, sometimes with the margins on his side, managed to hold on and go to a break with only 0-1 at a disadvantage.
The second half began like the first with high pressure and takeover from the home team.
After just over five minutes, Hasund had an excellent opportunity to expand the lead from close range in the penalty area. But the Norwegian had no pure hit at that time and the ball was cleared away in panic by the Djurgård defense.
Just minutes later, Smilla Holmberg went out to take the home team’s eighth corner for the evening. The ball sailed against the far post and looked to be simply picked down by Anna Koivunen in the Djurgård goal. But instead of a simple lyre, goalkeeper dropped the ball to Julie Blakstad but the shot was covered by Elsa Pelgander.
18-year-old Holmberg Continued to screw in dangerous corners as on treadmills – but without further dividends. Djurgården could, after great dominance of the home team initially, start resting a little more often with the ball within the team.
But as soon as the match picture seemed to turn over, Hammarby took it back as quickly.
Above all, it was Julie Blakstad, Ellen Wangerheim and Smilla Vallotto who were close to expanding the home management several times. But the end went either above the bar or outside the post – something that came to cost the home team expensive.
Because in one of the few interesting Djurgårds attacks in the second half became Mimmi Larsson, after returning on his own shot, downed by Anna Tamminen in the Hammarby goal. Judge Tess Olofsson, after a short reflection time, chose to point to the penalty point and up the team captain Therese Åsland who coolly placed the receipt behind Tamminen.
Djurgården looked to have managed to steal one point, but with a minute the decision would come for the home team. Almost a quiet manner, Julie Blakstad was elegantly inserted 2-1 into the cross in the 89th minute from the penalty area.
Hammarby managed to keep away and thus go up as a damall Swedish series leader.
