Blagoj-Blaz Marotov: The Skopje concert will be a trip through my long-running music story

On April 22, Tuesday, the famous Macedonian musician and composer, Blagoj-Blaz Marotov in the small hall of the Macedonian Philharmonic, will hold a solo concert, the first in his career, nearly half a century long at 8 pm.

– So far I have had recitals as a contrabass and solo performer, I have played with a Philharmonic, but as a vocal soloist this will be my first solo concert. To my great pleasure on the stage, with me will be my guests: legend Pero Hristov, with a nice reason, my life -long companion Yule Marotova and young and promising musician Ivan Kukic. The violin will accompany Ilija Filipovski, accordion Vojce Petrusev and of course my band members: Bojan Ivanovski – guitar, Bojan Marchov – piano, Goce March – Bass, Trajce Trajcevski – drums and Lena Zatkoska. We were preparing for the covers, at home, in the family music workshop and I hope we are ready for the audience. I wish a good concert and I sincerely hope that everything will be great – Marotov told us.

He added that his whole life travels through more musical genres, so it will be on Tuesday.

– This evening will be a romantic reminder of my author’s music, which will help me my guests accompanied by my band. My desire is to continue the festive spirit after the Easter celebration with our performances, in the moments when as a state we are facing difficult challenges. That’s why I invite all lovers of the beautiful Macedonian song to come and enjoy it – he adds.

Blagoj-Blaz Marotov has been present on the Macedonian music scene for half a century. It all started from his participation in « Golden Nightingale », followed by schooling and first performances in MRTV orchestras. He graduated from the Music Academy in Skopje, and worked for many years as a professor at the Ilija Nikolovski-Louis High School, where he teaches Contrabass. He has played for more than 15 years with the Macedonian Philharmonic, and as a member of various orchestras, he has been a guest on the programs of national televisions. He also performs solo, but also in « Duet Marotov », with his wife Fule, but also with his sons as a trio « M Cantabile », which performs instrumental music from all meridians.

After the release of the album « Happiness I Looking forward » in 2021, Marotov released several singles such as « Lago My », « Let the Golden Times Return », « You forget », « Life is Episode Fashion », « Love and Peace » and the last « God to give me strength ». Soon a new album is planning, and she regularly performs at the festivals of entertaining music, at home and in the region.

– I feel best when I get together with the audience when she responds to the vibration I send. That sensation touches me, is remembered, and I live for that vibration from small legs. When that connection of material is born, I do not think at all. I hope I will experience that feeling at the concert in Skopje as well – says Blaz Marotov.

Only two days after the meeting with the Skopje audience, on April 24 at the House of Culture « Anton Panov » there is also a concert in Strumica, and a concert is being negotiated in Gevgelija.

The concert in Skopje will be filmed by private production, and will later be posted on YouTube and shown on several televisions.
