The power supply break paralyzed public transport, including the metro and railway, disturbed the operation of airports, hospitals and telecommunications networks. In many cities, such as Madrid and Barcelona, there was no traffic lights, which led to serious traffic difficulties.
However, this is not the end. Powerful current failures, which paralyzed Spain and Portugal, also caused chaos on the streets, in shops and at gas stations. In the face of uncertainty and lack of official messages about the planned removal of failures, both residents and tourists went to shops and banks massively, trying to buy basic products and accumulate cash.

The Portuguese Operator Ren announced that Blackout, who paralyzed Portugal, was the result of a failure in the Spanish energy network. The reason was rapid temperature changes in central Spain, which led to serious fluctuations in tension and breaking synchronization with the European network.
Not only the Portuguese felt the effects – the problems spilled to other countries of the region. Ren warns that full system repair can take up to a week.
Now the Spanish government has announced the introduction of a state of emergency, ‘said Reuters. This is to be introduced in regions, which were particularly covered by a powerful power failure. Until now, the authorities of Andalusia, Madrid and Estremadura appealed for the introduction of a state of emergency.
