Nature engagement links Liljevalch’s summer initiatives. « Lars Jonsson – Invisibilis » is the biggest draw, with world -class bird depictions. Lundahl & Seitl, in turn, are widely noticed for its interactive, multimedia works, here « River biography » which provides sensations of rivers (should be booked). While « Komtmätta. A groundbreaking free zone for women » deep dive into education at the Women’s Citizens at Fogelstad, in « Peace with Earth ».

« Sculptor Carl Milles 150 years »

Millesgården 14/6 – 28/9

Carl Milles (1875–1955) public works are spread in both Sweden and the world. It is now 150 years since the famous sculptor was born, which Millesgården on Lidingö celebrates with it in modern times Biggest exhibition about his life and works. The goal is to give new perspectives on Milles art and also discuss his controversial political views. In the art hall, some seventy bronze and original plaips, a number of rarely or never exhibited, are shown in archival material, sketchbooks and photos.

Modern Museum Tom 9/11

Britta Marakatt-Labba’s 24 meter long image embroidery « Historjá » was named one of the best works of art in the 21st century. It can now be studied in a magical room at the Modern Museum, in the Sami artist’s acclaimed retrospective, earlier in Oslo and Kiruna. About sixty works are included, from 1968 to today – embroidery, installations, graphics, drawings, sculptures. Marakatt-Labba embodies Sami culture, history and memories, as well as the struggle for nature and the rights of indigenous peoples.

Waldemarsudde Tom 5/10

Christian Skredsvig (1852-1924) received the most medals at the salon in Paris by all Norwegian artists-especially skilled at depicting light phenomena and water reflexes. Waldemarsudde is now highlighting his atmospheric painting, together with works by both Norwegian and Swedish colleagues. This includes a wide range of outdoor realistic and national romantic masterpieces from the turn of the last century, by, among others, Prince Eugen. The painting prince was familiar with the also socially and literary talented landsman.

Carl Eldhs Ateljémuseum Tom 28/9

Every summer since 2013, Carl Eldh’s studio museum has invited a contemporary female artist. This year it is Theresa Traore Dahlberg As for a dialogue with the work and environment of the male sculptor. It is so subtly made it take a while to discover her organic and stylized forms, « hidden fairy tales », in the studio of the studio. At the Market Art Fair 2024, Saskia Neuman Gallery was wallpaper with Erik Jeor’s wild flower motifs in pastel tones. The vegetation has winded itself into a suite of watercolors at the gallery, inspired by icons and paintings with Madonnan and the child. Jeor is a believer Catholic and has « collected » on this art -historical motif for 20 years. His shimmering paintings are free interpretations and samples, with different moods and emotional expressions, predominantly tender.
