US musician Billy Joel will suspend his ongoing tour for four months for health reasons. The 75-year-old must recover from a recently carried out operation and undergo physiotherapy, it said on Instagram.
One expect a complete recovery and a continuation of his appearances next July. There was no further information about his illness. He regretted moving shows, but his health is going on, Joel said.
Concerts should be made up for
Concerts that Joel had planned in the United States, Canada, Scotland and England in the next few months are affected. They are to be made up for at the end of 2025 and 2026. Most recently, the “Piano Man” performed on February 22nd in the US state of Connecticut.
At the beginning of 2024, Joel released a new single with « Turn the Lights Back On ». In the previous July, after ten years and 150 concerts, the musician ended his legendary concert series in New York Madison Square Garden. For a decade he had performed there once a month, with the exception of Corona pandemic and because of illnesses.
