Biggest Influers are reviewed – Ingrosso on the list
About 50 well-known influencers and advertisers are reviewed by the Swedish Consumer Agency.
The supervisory matters are initiated After lawyers examined lots of posts on Tiktok, Youtube, Instagram and Snapchat and seen that many do hidden advertising.
Consumer Ombudsman Cecilia Tisell writes that influencers and advertisers continue to violate the rules despite the fact that the authority had previously taken action.
« Few seem to be regarded as responsible entrepreneurs, but continue consistently to ignore both the rules and the followers that the rules are for safeguarding, » she writes in a press release.
Now it can become legal penalties.
« I have at some point called this industry for immature. It was many years ago. Now I see it as an industry where too many people think they are over the law. They now need to be aware that no one is actually over the law. »
Maja Rogemyr, lawyer at the Consumer Agency, has been part of the group that reviewed the posts and says that the deficiencies are large and that many advertise without clearly labeling the posts.
« We know that many influencers have a great influence on children and young people. Therefore, it is extra important that they take their responsibility and follow the law, » writes Maja Rogemyr, lawyer at the Consumer Agency who has been part of the group that examined the posts.
She adds that the advertisers also have a responsibility to ensure that the influencers comply with the law.
