Bicycle Eldorado in the Strzelin commune
Two geographical lands are effectively connected on the train of Strzelin’s commune: the Silesian Lowland and the Wrocław Plain. Flat areas are bordering the folded, and in Strzelin the northern end of the low hills begins, which took the name from the town. In this part of the country there are excellent weather conditions with a long, warm spring and summer period, which promotes outdoor activity.
In the Strzeliński Hills, today covered with a dense forest, there are several abandoned villages, including the medieval Goschwitz settlement, whose discovery was a phenomenon on a European scale. The exhibition can be seen in Goschwitz’s archaeological work in the basement of the Strzelin town hall. In the commune we will also find many other historical souvenirs. There are many manor houses, farms, castles, churches, closed stone excavations and limestone. And in Strzelin, on Mount Parkowa, the main ridge of the Strzeliński hills begins.
Great hiking and bicycle routes encourage wandering around the commune. They are all well connected. Access to them is facilitated by an extensive road network, rail connections with stations in Strzelin and the White Church are equally important.
Bicycle routes were run around a relatively small area. The Strzelińskie Hills are low, they do not exceed 400 m. Bicycle routes are diverse, they have been divided into individual levels of difficulty: forest ducta, « Singletrack » Strzelin and more steep mountain sections.
– We try to ensure that the commune’s tourist offer is constantly growing. Bicycle routes, created on the Strzelińskie Hills, are very important, ideal for lovers of bicycle sports and entire families – argues Dorota Pawnuk, mayor of the city and commune of Strzelin.
Bicycle paths and hiking trails perfectly fit into the field and only interfere in the natural environment only to a small extent. The expansion of Strzelin bicycle routes, which includes Five episodes of « SingleTracks » of the Strzelińskie Hills are undoubtedly an important element of the tourist municipality.
