Bernardic: Tomasevic and Korlaet have been involved in the affair from the beginning
Zagreb United Candidate « Zagreb Mayor Davor Bernardic said on Wednesday that the Hippodroma affair was a robbery of over two million euros in public money in which the mayor had been involved from the beginning Tomislav Tomasevic and his deputy Luka Korlaet.
« It is a brutal theft of public money that ended up in private pockets, » Bernardic’s press conference said on Wednesday, saying that there was more than 1.5 million euros that was redistributed, and the question of which he ended up – Tomasevic or Korlaet.
He believes that this will show an investigation and that the affair will have its own judicial epilogue.
It also holds that it is impossible for Tomasevic and Korlaet to know anything because, he claims, they « have been » involved in that affair « from the beginning.
Bernardic replied to reporters that he expects that Tomasevic, as his deputy Korlaet was called today, will be called to an interview at USKOK.
The candidate for Deputy Mayor Trpimir Goluza said that Tomašević was the « octopus’s head » in the City of Zagreb, assessing that he had confirmed himself as a « chronic public deception who has an unlimited access to the media in recent days. »
He believes that Tomašević did something that did not succeed even with the deceased Mayor Milan Bandic, because in just four years of his term he became an interest of Uskok to allow for theft of two million euros from the city budget.
Goluza recalled that he had filed three criminal charges against Tomasevic so far, and he announced that he would also submit the fourth USO tomorrow because the administration named Tomasevic « turned from the Institution for Managing Sports Facilities to destroy sports facilities. »
He accused Tomasevic of having « his associations » to channel the enormous amount of city money from the city budget.
The candidate for Deputy Mayor Dina Dogan urged citizens to accompany the Affer.net website, which shows the affairs, related persons, associations and parties, and the City of Zagreb, which she said, are related to the « corruption octopus ».
The candidate on the list for the City Assembly, Renato Petek, also believes that Tomasevic is the « face and reverse » of the Hippodroma affair and is not innocent because otherwise he would dismiss the USO Governing Council, as well as Director Kostanjevic Kostanjevic.
He recalled that in 2023, they received several E-Mail employees of the USO who asked the city deputies to respond to doubts about employment, coefficients and new contracts, and to change the statutes that were the basis for the new activities conducted by Kostanjevic.
