Benjamin Dousa rejects allegations of ministerial government

After DN told us that Secretary of State Diana Janse must have promised the Swedish Democrats Foundation Hepatica Money from the Aid Authority Sidel the question of ministerial government has been raised. The Social Democrats have demanded Diana Janses’ departure and announced that they will notify Benjamin Dousa.

In an interview with DN, the Minister of Development initially says that neither he nor his secretary of state has interfered in individual cases on Sida.

– Diana and I have not promised a penny to SD’s Hepatica, but what we have said is that the new party -related support should to a large extent be based on the mandate distribution in Parliament, says Benjamin Dousa and continues:

– On the other hand, it is our task to govern Sweden’s aid policy, including through regulatory letters, government assignments, aid strategies. And we will of course ensure that our authorities, whether it is a side or any other authority under us, deliver what is the spirit of our politics.

He means that If any party’s application is not good enough, they should not get any money from the page.

That assessment made the officials on Sida, that the Swedish Democrats’ applications did not measure up. Director General Jakob Granit went from reversing that assessment, to reinterpretation of the criteria to give money to the Swedish Democrats’ Hepatica. According to sources for DN after pressure from Diana Janse.

– We are never in individual decisions. On the other hand, call it to push, call it to push through our politics, we do this against all our authorities all the time. We have different tools to do so on: instructions, regulatory letters, government assignments, aid strategies, the choice of Director General. In direct conversations with Sida’s leadership, says Benjamin Dousa.

According to sources on Sida, according to internal e -mails and according to Björn Söder (SD’s Member of Parliament, Eds Note), has Diana Janse been involved in this individual issue?

– Yes, but here you should distinguish between being in a specific application, she has not been. So again, if the quality is too bad, they should not get any money. However, if it is so that Sida does not deliver on what is the government’s policy, we will of course ensure that the authority does.

The Social Democrats demand that Diana Janse resign. What do you think about it?

-There have been quite a few KU notifications and departure requirements in recent weeks.

– I am in the process of trying to get as much of our support as possible and that it comes into Gaza, ensuring that Ukraine has sufficient resilience to survive daily Russian attacks. If the Social Democrats instead of collaborating on the aid want to use it in some kind of party political game. It must stand for them.

You mean Diana Janse has never said that SD will get the money?

– You can ask that question to Diana. I mean, as a minister and we as the Foreign Ministry, we have never promised that any organization will ever get money. We are, as I said, not in the details and individual processes that Sida carries out.

But if what we have received information about and has seen in documents is true, that she has promised this, what do you think? Is it ministerial rule, is that something you stand for? She is your secretary of state anyway?

– No, my secretaries of state should never be in individual processes. On the other hand, they must deliver on the government’s policy and ensure that our authorities also do.

This has happened

● The government and Sida have been criticized for allegations of ministerial government. One case concerns the Swedish Democrats’ party -related foundation Hepatica, which, despite previous rejection, will now receive support after Sida’s Director General Jakob Granite has run over the officials and reinterpreted the rules. According to internal emails, it must have been preceded by political pressure.

● The second concerns the government’s decision to freeze the aid to UNRWA, even though Sida’s experts did not consider it justified. SMS from the Secretary of State has raised questions about undue political control of an authority that should act independently.

● Civil society support differs and is separate from the party -related support.
