Petition for Returning Constitutional Name Macedonia and Termination of the Prespa Agreement

« On May 8, 2025, the petition for the return of the constitutional name Macedonia and the termination of the Prespa Agreement, which has been raised by several Macedonian associations and organizations in Europe and the world, is in the heart of all national problems that every Macedonian project is being signed. Responsible institutions in the country have begun the termination process – annulment of the Prespa Agreement.
Explaining the initiation of the aforementioned petition and the need to sign it in Macedonia and Europe, but also in the world, the Coordination Body of the Macedonians in its letter emphasizes:
– The 2018 Prespa Agreement is the root of the Macedonians. This agreement signifies the loss of our name, identity, history and nation. It violates international public law, and especially universally recognized human rights.
1. The Vienna Convention on the Contracting Law of 1969 in Article 53 and Article 64 prohibits the violation of the imperative legal norms (JUS Cogens), including the right of national identity and the sovereign right of independent choice and self -determination of national identity, including the name of this identity without which it cannot be defined. The national name is the identity of the nation.
2. National identity, inextricably determined by the noun contender as the basic determinant of legal and national identity, is a basic legal category protected by the principle of cultural sovereignty, as the fundamental principle contained in several UNESCO and UN documents. Any modification of the national and state-legal identity is an ethnocidal attempt to annul national identity, including the right to this identity, as a basic human collective law.
3. The « North » addition is an identification modifier and unauthorized the sovereign national identity. It also violates the will of the Macedonian people, expressed through the 2018 referendum.

Coordination Body of Macedonians for Europe: « The termination of the Prespa Agreement is a struggle not only for our name but also for our identity and cultural existence »

The petitioner, the Coordination Body of Macedonians for Europe, in his letter points out:
– And we Macedonians have the right to identity and love for our name and our nation. And we Macedonians have the right to life. The termination of the Prespa Agreement is a struggle not only for our name but also for our identity and cultural existence. Support our fight against the Prespa Agreement if you believe in justice and the right of every person to live with their own history, culture and national identity.
We, Macedonians, from many organizations in the world, urge the Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia to launch a legal-political process for termination of this humiliating agreement with Greece and procedures for the return of the constitutional name Macedonia for internal and external use in the United Nations organization.
Using the positive climate in the geostrategic current changes, we Macedonians from many organizations around the world ask the Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia to bring a trial for all involved in the signing of the Agreement and a request for their personal responsibility.
