From the police judge in Brussels, Adil BH – known online as Adil Gofast – received on Wednesday for no less than 17.5 years on driving bans. In addition, he has to cough up a total of 25,600 euros in fines, he has to take all his driving exams again and also undergo medical and psychological tests. The court considers it proven that the man consistently ignores all traffic rules. In addition, in recent years he has also been caught driving under the influence of drugs in several checks, and was already convicted of a flight crime.

The judge therefore imposed the maximum sentence, as the prosecutor had asked. He also lifted heavily that the man continued to post new videos online, even after he had been in jail for a while at the start of the investigation – in May 2023. « On some videos, speeds of more than 250 kilometers are achieved and dangerous catch -up maneuvers are performed, » it sounded. « In the past, he already received a driving ban six times. »

German number plates

But even now the Adil BH clearly doesn’t care. He did not show up in court on Wednesday. And barely a few hours after he received his seventh driving ban, he again posted a series of videos showing how he takes a seat behind the wheel of a car, with or without a belt. In another video he shows his rented Audi RS6 with German number plates, challengingly parked on a roundabout for the Brussels Palace of Justice. In the background, music by Lacrim, a Paris rapper plays with a also richly filled criminal record. It is not clear when that last video was recorded, but the message is clear just after his most recent conviction.

On other images that BH posted in the hours after his conviction, he also laughs his sentence to his followers. « I have seen that I am in the news again. It is not the first time I have experienced this. There is an attorney there who has aiming for me, » says BH in the video. « A year and a half ago they even put me in jail for it, for Oharme a few videos on Instagram. But life continues, this all changes nothing. »

Ticking time bomb

« With this driving behavior, this man is a ticking time bomb on our roads, » says Werner De Dobbeleer of the Flemish Traffic Engineering Foundation (VSV). « It is bad to have to say, but this will clearly only stop when this man causes a traffic accident that causes injuries. Then a judge can also give him a prison sentence. But as long as that is not the case, it will stay with driving bans. And this man will clearly not have a message. Perhaps he would benefit from a very strict compensation process.”

The VSV further calls on the federal government to work on a driving license lock, as included in the coalition agreement. Built into the private car of a driver with a driving ban, this device can prevent it from starting the vehicle as long as the punishment applies.
