Before sending children to summer camps, urges you to check their legal status / day

To help parents or children’s legal representatives choose a safe and high -quality camp, BAC has prepared a guide « Children’s Camp Choosing a Safe Camp », which summarizes practical recommendations.

First, BAC does not recommend sending children to a camp that is not found in the legally organized camp register « www.nometnes.gov.lv » or whose status is not green in the register.

BAC also calls for careful study of security rules and contract camps abroad. Attention should be paid to which person will exercise the child’s right to safety, protection from illegal actions, and deal with other issues that may arise during the camp, the center points out.

At the same time, experts point out that the optimal number of employees in the camp for ten participants is at least one adult employee, not including economic staff. This number is needed to ensure a successful camp process process and a favorable psychological climate in the camp, explains BAC.

Along with the reputation and reviews of the camp, BAC points out. Specialists emphasize the importance of paying attention to whether the camp or one of its former and existing employees has ever had serious complaints.

The guide’s appendix also accompanies a survey that will help you rethink the most important issues when choosing a camp for your child.

If violations or concerns about the activities of a camp are found, BAC calls for law enforcement agencies.
