Before Easter, traffic opened with a new viaduct over the Rail Baltica Slee
Asphalt pavement was renovated, new partitions and safety nets were installed to protect the future infrastructure from the viaduct on the fast railway.
« The viaduct – the central artery of these settlements to enter Jonava or the Jonava -Kėdainiai path. The fact that there will be no one level of intersection – crossings – will significantly improve safety, thus planning the entire Rail Baltica line. This viaduct is one of the many steps of the Rail Baltica project that we take to ensure that our infrastructure is in line with the highest standards of transport, safety, efficiency and sustainability, ”said Egidijus Lazauskas, CEO of LTG Group.

The construction work took place for more than a year and was carried out by the contractors Fegda and Tilsta. In the near future, after the contractor dismantled the temporary bypass, the further execution of the pavement works will accelerate.
« The Switzerland -Žeimiai is the second opening car viaduct – an important impetus for the project and a significant event for local road users. Although the work all over the section is still ongoing, this opening shows that the project is moving forward, » said FEGDA. – We are grateful to the local community for understanding during the construction period. We plan to complete all the work on this stretch by the end of the year. ”
The viaduct will be handed over to Via Lietuva. Last year, the road was opened in 1516, and another building – a car tunnel – is planned to be opened. This year, 8.8 km of rails will also be laid in this stretch.
