Because of the fire of the hall in Ostrava, the police evacuated people around. Skoda is 10 million
Information about the fire of the hall in Teslova Street received rescue units on Tuesday three minutes before nine o'clock in the evening. The whistleblower said he first tried to extinguish the fire with a fire extinguisher, but he failed, and therefore called on line 112. Firefighters sent four professional and seven voluntary units to the event.
“In just a few minutes, police officers from the Ostrava Situation Service were the first to see the smoke coming from the building. Given that there was an adjacent building near the burning house, men of the law immediately began to evacuate people inside. By the arrival of firefighters, the police managed to bring five people to safety, ”said police spokeswoman Eva Michalíková, saying that the police also coordinated traffic around the fire.
Helped fire pursuits
« Already on the arrival of the first unit at the scene of the event, it was clear that the fire hit not only the roof of the hall, but also the pallets with stored material located in its surroundings, » said firefighter spokeswoman Kamila Langerová.
During the intervention, firefighters had to disassemble the roof structure, and used fire -extinguishing nails, which, thanks to the creation of water fog, help to effectively dispose of not only the fire itself, but also increase the safety of the intervening units.
“The fire was located within two hours, its complete liquidation lasted until the morning. The preliminary damage caused by the fire was quantified at 10 million crowns, firefighters with their intervention saved values of 20 million, ”said Langerová, adding that the exact cause of the fire itself is the subject of investigation.
“On Wednesday in the morning, the fire place was examined with the participation of specialists in the field of criminalistic technology and expertise, and there was also a handler with a service dog to search for combustion accelerators. We are now dealing with the circumstances and causes of the fire in cooperation with firefighters, ”said Michalíková, adding that criminal proceedings were initiated in the case for suspicion of a crime of general threat to negligence.
