When the operative team arrived at the scene, the person concerned was extracted from the lake and a crew from the Harghita County Ambulance Service performed resuscitation maneuvers, but who were not successful, being declared the death.
The representatives of IPJ Harghita said that the checks established that it was an 18-year-old girl from Iași county, who was with a group of people in the wooded area near the lake and who would have been scared of a bear, ran, and in her running and fell into the water.
« From the first checks carried out, it seems that the young woman in question, while in an wooded area near the lake, together with a group of people, would have been scared of the presence of a wild animal, respectively a bear, and, in the run, would be unbalanced and would have fallen from the height in the water.
The information was also made public by the prefect of Harghita, Pets Sandor, in the meeting of the Prefectural College, who said that the person concerned, visited, died, ‘most likely due to the appearance of a bear, while walking with the group’.
