Beauties from Narva won gold at the World Cup Boxing in Turkey!
From May 14 to May 18, 2025 in Antalya (Türkiye), the World Cup was held in kickboxing. Athletes from Narva-Alexander Dzhikaev and Karolina Voronova-shitting and won the gold medal in the K-1 discipline, writes Rus.delfi.
At the Turkish Open Wako World Cup 2025 tournament, which took place in the Antalya under the auspices of the International Field of Amateur kickboxing Wako, 2549 athletes from 87 countries of the world took part. The competition covered six disciplines: Full Contact, Low Kick, K-1, Kick Light, Light Contact and Point Fighting.
Carolina Voronova and Alexander Dzhikaev, representing Estonia in the K-1 discipline, performed with brilliant results at the tournament.
Karolina Voronova, who competed in the weight category up to 60 kg, went perfectly the entire tournament path. In the first battle, she confidently defeated the hostess of the competition, the Turkish woman Anlak Nisanur (3: 0), then with the same account was defeated by Eve Chang Aikhar from Switzerland. In the final, Carolina again did not leave the chances of the opponent – another representative of Turkey, Giancel Chetin, having won the decisive battle also with a score of 3-0 and won the gold medal.
Alexander Dzhikaev (weight category up to 48 kg) demonstrated not only a high class, but also a real fighting character. On the way to the final, she defeated three rivals from Turkey, and in a decisive battle she already performed with an injury.
“Presumably, this is stretching of the ankle muscles. If I recover on time, I will take part in the next tournament in Hungary. If not, I will focus on preparing for the World Cup,” Alexander commented in an interview with Rusdelfi.
The World Cup will be held in October in Abu Dhabi (UAE).
In November last year, 21-year-old Alexander went down in the history of Estonian sports, becoming the first athlete from Estonia to win the title of European kickboxing champion among adults.
